Pause and Take a Deep Breath

I am honestly out of ideas of what to write, and I think, ladies and gentleman, that I have to start taking things a step higher. I need to live! I have a few blogs that I like to read, and many of them are so talented. They all have times for themselves and freedom to enjoy life as it comes.

I’m not complaining when I say that I still don’t have the freedom that many 20 year old do. It’s going to be a while, before I get the freedom that I want. Meanwhile, I will post every once in a while. Especially when I have something interesting going on. But for now, I think I’m going to have Infinite go on a break because after all I need to aims4life.

However, that doesn’t mean that I will stop uploading on Instagram, so please follow. Keep following me on my journey!

I Don’t Care, I’m In the “Zone”

I think I officially hit the peak of summer, where my sleep schedule is not fixable. In other words, it’s all jacked up!

Recap of this weekend!

Friday – June 8, 2018

It was slow, I’m not even going to lie. My mom had a doctors appointment, and she was not home the entire morning. Which means only one thing, I can finally eat the Cocoa Pebbles on top of our white kitchen cabinet. MAX! No, “tampoco” max! But ya know, it’s Friday. TREAT YA SELF! But I think I treated myself a little too much. I FEEL GUILTY! DON’T JUDGE ME!

See the thing is, my sister and I went to the Dollar Tree where I bought the rest of my friend’s birthday present (candy, balloon, and a birthday card). But first we stopped by the Michoacana, which is a Mexican snack place. So we got “cheetos con queso” and a “yogurt con fruta y granola.” But you know me being healthy got the yogurt and my sister got the cheetos.

Let’s just pretend…that’s its supposed to be sideways

Since it was my friend’s birthday party, I told her that we should eat out. That was a mistake. We ended up eating pasta at Olive Garden. Only to jump at sky zone right afterwards. I thought throughout the whole time, I was going to puke my guts out. Sorry, TMI! Then afterwards I got a shake from Steak and Shake…I really don’t know how to diet…

Saturday and Sunday – June 9 and 10, 2018

On Saturday, I declared it Family time. Let’s bond while we devour our food.

On Sunday it was just a little bit me time. Time to call it just a relaxing time for moi. I watched two movies on Netflix. The first one was so horrible that I don’t even want to mention it. Second movie, Cocktail stars Tom Cruise.

A little snippet…

Who doesn’t want to watch a movie with the young gorgeous Tom Cruise?!

But to be a little more recent, y’all should watch Ocean’s Eight and there scheme to steal at the MET Gala. I’ll leave the trailer below!

Garibaldi Ready

Guys, I’m officially twenty! Let that sink in…ya girl needs only one more year to be legally ready to drink. I had a whole birthday weekend, where the most important people had given their beautiful birthday wishes (THANKS!).

FRIDAY – May 25

Low-key not the best birthday. I was cleaning the whole day because my mom was hosting the birthday party at our house. But by five my sister took me out to a restaurant in Naperville called Joy Yee.

The server sat us down in a small corner. I couldn’t help to blame the server for dragging, but maybe they were just that packed with people. Anyway after a while, the server got our order. We ended up getting: Korean Spicy Fried Vege Dumplings (appetizers), Won ton Chicken Noodle Soup (me), and my sister got the Korean Special Combination Noodles. It was delicious, especially the appetizers. In the end we both got our drinks to go. My sister got the pineapple coconut freeze with tapioca, and I got the caramel milk tea with tapioca. Mine was a little too sweet, but my sister’s smoothie tasted like piña colada, which is always a good thing.

Saturday – May 26

More errands. I took my grandma to the doctor first thing in the morning. She had to get some x-rays to her lungs, and I have never felt like such a failure. I am a horrible at translating and talking, and I’m just a hot mess times two. Anyway, after the doctor, I took her out for some breakfast at McDonald’s cause I’m too poor for anything else. The good thing is that she actually likes McDonald’s breakfast.

When I got home, I just relaxed for a little bit before the mess of people started coming. The time started passing by while I did the little things, and before I knew it I was ready. But guess what, I got another errand. This time I had to get Popeye’s chicken. I took out my cousin’s for the little spin, and we stopped by Starbuck’s. After that it was just a family party vibe. People come, you say hi, you eat, you sit and chat, you get cake, and people leave.

Sunday – May 27

It was a lazy family Sunday. Towards the end, I took my cousin to buy an outfit for her pinning ceremony (she’s graduating eight grade this year). We went to Target, Ross, and Meijer. I always enjoy my time with her, and I have a feeling I always will.

Monday – May 28

I like pop music, so all that basic “it’s always on the radio” type of music. Sometimes I’ll go out of my way by listening to some R&B, slow rock, indie, or some Latino music. But damn, this day I went full blown Mexican.

Garibaldi is a music festival like Lollapalooza. In the past, it was more of the Hispanic pop music, but lately these last few years it is more banda and all of that jazz.

But that being said, I still didn’t know what to expect. So I was kind of surprised by how many people were there. That people actually danced and took out people to dance. I wish I would have liked the music more, because maybe I would have enjoyed it so much more. Since I don’t know the music, I don’t know how to dance, throughout the whole time I was just like “uhhhh what do I do now?”

But I did dance a couple, and my friends were being goofy and the guys that we went with were cool. They all teased me because I’m a stick dancing…in other words really stiff.

Maybe I’ll get better with time, and I’ll enjoy myself more and hopefully I like the music more, and only then I would go.

Mama, Te Amo…Hoy y Siempre

One whole week to celebrate our mothers, and one whole week of summer vacation. It’s been good! I’m not even going to lie, but I’m craving an outing, a trip, or just something spontaneous. Will I ever get it? Probably not until next week…

Just a little pic, because I liked how my make-up looked. Kudos to Abigail!

Before I go on a tangent, mother’s day weekend was relaxing. My momma got to have three days just for her. She had May 10, which is the day that Mexicans celebrate mother’s day. AND she had this whole weekend, because my family is just extra.

But in all honesty…I wish her the best mother’s day ever!!!!

No matter how much we don’t see eye to eye, I will always have so much respect and love for you! You taught me everything a woman should know, and I know the lessons haven’t stopped. Even though you may not teach me in the best way, or the “right way,” I know that everything you do is for the better of my life. I hope that one day God will give me the chance to be a mom, and that I could be as good as a mom as you are. I love you with all my heart momma! Feliz Dia De Las Madres!!!

Better late than never.

If there is one thing you need to know about college, is that you’re bound to have a college breakdown…at least once. Maybe twice.

Anyway. Yesterday was my last day of school, and I was running on four hours of sleep and had two test. I just sort of died. Other than that, Chicago has finally been getting that summer weather and I’m living! I feel like this finals week was hella tough because my immune system decided to break down on me the last week of school. I was sounding like a teenage boy going through puberty, it was god damn beautiful! *insert sarcastic voice*

I just wanted to make a post to maybe give 3 small tip to other students that are stressing the same way.

1). Stay Healthy!

Like I have mentioned, I was terribly sick my last week of school. It was a week for cough medicine, vicks, and a whole bunch of tea. Try to avoid it! Drink water, have enough of sleep, and please don’t die on me!

2). Stay on Task!

It was extremely difficult to stay on task, especially with NyQuil in my system. I would get home and pass out. One time I had to stay up because of homework that I had forgotten about. PS don’t forget about your homework.

3). Relax

I was extremely stressed throughout my last few weeks, and I made it possible for myself to hang out with friends. This Monday I got out of my second final like at four in the afternoon…not nine. Get it?

Do you hate me?

Well, I made a time to get some coffee with my friends. Talked for a bit, and on Tuesday went out for a bit again. Take time to breathe, and most importantly think positive! You’ll do fine with your presentations, papers, and test!

National Sibling Day 2

I can’t believe that I can call this beautiful city home. This is where I grew up, and I couldn’t have been happier. In middle school, I fell in love with Downtown…I always wanted to be there, but living in the suburbs never made that easy. By the time I was in high school, my cousins have already made it a ritual to hang out with their friends. A little part of me was jealous. They were able to get to enjoy their days after school being here. But it’s okay!

You see today after my class, I went shopping in downtown with my best friend and her sister and cousin. So I guess I was just tagging along a family trip…haha! It’s okay! Because they are both really cool, and they feel a lot like my family. The jokes would be the ones we do…and I don’t know I just reached a level of comfort with them.

I dedicate this blog to them, because they are awesome people! And without them, this year would have been nearly impossible. Thank You for being you! For accepting my awkwardness, and my late arrivals on picking you guys up, for being there in situations that I really needed you guys for, for taking care of me, and most importantly for never asking more of me! You guys…I officially consider both of you family, “y mas que todo hermanas,” so I wish you guys a happy national sibling day!

Flower Road

Spring Break part two. That’s what I should call this post. I needed this break, but I feel like I am still feeling stressed and tired and unable to move on with school, but “ya que” right? This break has me all sorts of confused and exhausted! It makes me want a legit and honest break. Where’s summer y’all?! Okay! Y’all right! I should stop complaining. This is what I did this spring break.

It was awful…in all sorts of way, but in the end I ended up learning more about who I am. You have to get through the worst in order to get to the highs right? This song is just a little jam that sounds depressing but it really isn’t…lol.

I had an appointment at Endiro Cafe, and I have never been to such a cute cafe. The place itself had a rustic and antique look,  and it screamed out hipster. I could already imagine a young person going there sitting next to a window and looking out to the sidewalk and imagining a story and giving it life to it on paper and pen or the tips of his or her fingers. Next to him/her would be the coffee served in a glass or ceramic cup filled with their choice of poison, whether it be latte or cappuccino or anything with caffeine. Yet I was there with my sister, and I didn’t give birth to a beautiful poem. Instead I made sure that I could inhale the avocado toast, the latte, and the nutty nutella smoothie.

That wasn’t the end of my day! No sir, it wasn’t! I drove back to home, and there I went to Hobby Lobby with my sister. There, we bought materials that I needed for a little project that I was doing for the rest of the week… THE scrapbook album. The one that showed all the little adventures that I have had with my cousin. It was going to be my present for her. I hope she likes it. In fact, we actually spent the day with her afterwards.

Her little brother had not been to Panera, so my sister invited him out to hang out with the “big kids” for the day. I bought the kid some Andy’s custard ice cream. We watch Victoria, a Spanish horror movie. Called it a day!

I totally forgot what I did for the rest of the week for my Spring Break last week. On Saturday, I had to say to goodbye to a special person. Don’t worry; she just had to move! So that was pretty upsetting, but I enjoyed our last day together. I hope you guys have or had a bomb ass Spring Break.

My favorite K-Pop band is in a hiatus due to their military duties, but they prepared this song for their fans. Very much appreciated! It is one of my favorite songs!
