I Don’t Care, I’m In the “Zone”

I think I officially hit the peak of summer, where my sleep schedule is not fixable. In other words, it’s all jacked up!

Recap of this weekend!

Friday – June 8, 2018

It was slow, I’m not even going to lie. My mom had a doctors appointment, and she was not home the entire morning. Which means only one thing, I can finally eat the Cocoa Pebbles on top of our white kitchen cabinet. MAX! No, “tampoco” max! But ya know, it’s Friday. TREAT YA SELF! But I think I treated myself a little too much. I FEEL GUILTY! DON’T JUDGE ME!

See the thing is, my sister and I went to the Dollar Tree where I bought the rest of my friend’s birthday present (candy, balloon, and a birthday card). But first we stopped by the Michoacana, which is a Mexican snack place. So we got “cheetos con queso” and a “yogurt con fruta y granola.” But you know me being healthy got the yogurt and my sister got the cheetos.

Let’s just pretend…that’s its supposed to be sideways

Since it was my friend’s birthday party, I told her that we should eat out. That was a mistake. We ended up eating pasta at Olive Garden. Only to jump at sky zone right afterwards. I thought throughout the whole time, I was going to puke my guts out. Sorry, TMI! Then afterwards I got a shake from Steak and Shake…I really don’t know how to diet…

Saturday and Sunday – June 9 and 10, 2018

On Saturday, I declared it Family time. Let’s bond while we devour our food.

On Sunday it was just a little bit me time. Time to call it just a relaxing time for moi. I watched two movies on Netflix. The first one was so horrible that I don’t even want to mention it. Second movie, Cocktail stars Tom Cruise.

A little snippet…

Who doesn’t want to watch a movie with the young gorgeous Tom Cruise?!

But to be a little more recent, y’all should watch Ocean’s Eight and there scheme to steal at the MET Gala. I’ll leave the trailer below!

Garibaldi Ready

Guys, I’m officially twenty! Let that sink in…ya girl needs only one more year to be legally ready to drink. I had a whole birthday weekend, where the most important people had given their beautiful birthday wishes (THANKS!).

FRIDAY – May 25

Low-key not the best birthday. I was cleaning the whole day because my mom was hosting the birthday party at our house. But by five my sister took me out to a restaurant in Naperville called Joy Yee.

The server sat us down in a small corner. I couldn’t help to blame the server for dragging, but maybe they were just that packed with people. Anyway after a while, the server got our order. We ended up getting: Korean Spicy Fried Vege Dumplings (appetizers), Won ton Chicken Noodle Soup (me), and my sister got the Korean Special Combination Noodles. It was delicious, especially the appetizers. In the end we both got our drinks to go. My sister got the pineapple coconut freeze with tapioca, and I got the caramel milk tea with tapioca. Mine was a little too sweet, but my sister’s smoothie tasted like piña colada, which is always a good thing.

Saturday – May 26

More errands. I took my grandma to the doctor first thing in the morning. She had to get some x-rays to her lungs, and I have never felt like such a failure. I am a horrible at translating and talking, and I’m just a hot mess times two. Anyway, after the doctor, I took her out for some breakfast at McDonald’s cause I’m too poor for anything else. The good thing is that she actually likes McDonald’s breakfast.

When I got home, I just relaxed for a little bit before the mess of people started coming. The time started passing by while I did the little things, and before I knew it I was ready. But guess what, I got another errand. This time I had to get Popeye’s chicken. I took out my cousin’s for the little spin, and we stopped by Starbuck’s. After that it was just a family party vibe. People come, you say hi, you eat, you sit and chat, you get cake, and people leave.

Sunday – May 27

It was a lazy family Sunday. Towards the end, I took my cousin to buy an outfit for her pinning ceremony (she’s graduating eight grade this year). We went to Target, Ross, and Meijer. I always enjoy my time with her, and I have a feeling I always will.

Monday – May 28

I like pop music, so all that basic “it’s always on the radio” type of music. Sometimes I’ll go out of my way by listening to some R&B, slow rock, indie, or some Latino music. But damn, this day I went full blown Mexican.

Garibaldi is a music festival like Lollapalooza. In the past, it was more of the Hispanic pop music, but lately these last few years it is more banda and all of that jazz.

But that being said, I still didn’t know what to expect. So I was kind of surprised by how many people were there. That people actually danced and took out people to dance. I wish I would have liked the music more, because maybe I would have enjoyed it so much more. Since I don’t know the music, I don’t know how to dance, throughout the whole time I was just like “uhhhh what do I do now?”

But I did dance a couple, and my friends were being goofy and the guys that we went with were cool. They all teased me because I’m a stick dancing…in other words really stiff.

Maybe I’ll get better with time, and I’ll enjoy myself more and hopefully I like the music more, and only then I would go.

Mama, Te Amo…Hoy y Siempre

One whole week to celebrate our mothers, and one whole week of summer vacation. It’s been good! I’m not even going to lie, but I’m craving an outing, a trip, or just something spontaneous. Will I ever get it? Probably not until next week…

Just a little pic, because I liked how my make-up looked. Kudos to Abigail!

Before I go on a tangent, mother’s day weekend was relaxing. My momma got to have three days just for her. She had May 10, which is the day that Mexicans celebrate mother’s day. AND she had this whole weekend, because my family is just extra.

But in all honesty…I wish her the best mother’s day ever!!!!

No matter how much we don’t see eye to eye, I will always have so much respect and love for you! You taught me everything a woman should know, and I know the lessons haven’t stopped. Even though you may not teach me in the best way, or the “right way,” I know that everything you do is for the better of my life. I hope that one day God will give me the chance to be a mom, and that I could be as good as a mom as you are. I love you with all my heart momma! Feliz Dia De Las Madres!!!

Better late than never.

Flower Road

Spring Break part two. That’s what I should call this post. I needed this break, but I feel like I am still feeling stressed and tired and unable to move on with school, but “ya que” right? This break has me all sorts of confused and exhausted! It makes me want a legit and honest break. Where’s summer y’all?! Okay! Y’all right! I should stop complaining. This is what I did this spring break.

It was awful…in all sorts of way, but in the end I ended up learning more about who I am. You have to get through the worst in order to get to the highs right? This song is just a little jam that sounds depressing but it really isn’t…lol.

I had an appointment at Endiro Cafe, and I have never been to such a cute cafe. The place itself had a rustic and antique look,  and it screamed out hipster. I could already imagine a young person going there sitting next to a window and looking out to the sidewalk and imagining a story and giving it life to it on paper and pen or the tips of his or her fingers. Next to him/her would be the coffee served in a glass or ceramic cup filled with their choice of poison, whether it be latte or cappuccino or anything with caffeine. Yet I was there with my sister, and I didn’t give birth to a beautiful poem. Instead I made sure that I could inhale the avocado toast, the latte, and the nutty nutella smoothie.

That wasn’t the end of my day! No sir, it wasn’t! I drove back to home, and there I went to Hobby Lobby with my sister. There, we bought materials that I needed for a little project that I was doing for the rest of the week… THE scrapbook album. The one that showed all the little adventures that I have had with my cousin. It was going to be my present for her. I hope she likes it. In fact, we actually spent the day with her afterwards.

Her little brother had not been to Panera, so my sister invited him out to hang out with the “big kids” for the day. I bought the kid some Andy’s custard ice cream. We watch Victoria, a Spanish horror movie. Called it a day!

I totally forgot what I did for the rest of the week for my Spring Break last week. On Saturday, I had to say to goodbye to a special person. Don’t worry; she just had to move! So that was pretty upsetting, but I enjoyed our last day together. I hope you guys have or had a bomb ass Spring Break.

My favorite K-Pop band is in a hiatus due to their military duties, but they prepared this song for their fans. Very much appreciated! It is one of my favorite songs!

Snapchat-981200939 Friends! It’s been a while, hasn’t it? How have y’all been?

As y’all can tell, I am as busy as the tiniest ant in this world. School can make someone busy, and well a job that I’m no longer going to be at. Maybe I will have more time to spare. Anyways, this is going to be a little catch up post.

I’m already half way in through semester two, and like I have said…I feel like I am terribly busy. It’s always school, and if it’s not school then it was my job. But then it’s the smaller things like, but these tend to rotate: friends and family. My days are always school, then some days automatically I would go to work. That was my day. I feel tired and stressed out, and I hear how some girls are living like that. Honestly props to them, because I am so tired all the time. I recently gave my two weeks for my job, and I think starting next week…I will have time to work out. I’m going to try and get this “summer bod!”

Talking about summer, in two weeks I have an appointment with a woman who is in charge of the local magazine…and I’m hoping that by then I will have an internship in this magazine. That’s exciting!

What else?

I finished with Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, that was on Netflix. This is a video of a little something I had found, but it has spoilers.

Honestly, I haven’t watched many shows. Sometimes I’ll try to watch an episode or a movie here and there, but mostly it is just music that I listen to. My favorite one at the moment being…”Mine” by Bazzi. The music video is a little frisky…so beware.

The Choice

“Come bother me,” This was probably the most repetitive line from the movie–The Choice. It was cute.

Well, today it’s the end of my winter break. My friend said, that she wants her break longer. Personally I think that three weeks is more than enough! I’m ready for this. Last semester passed way too fast! I think this one is going to fly as well. The longest month is March, but in March I have my Spring break, so it doesn’t count.

In this movie / book, they kept saying that life is made out of decisions. Right now, I’m debating to myself whether I want to volunteer for the Peace Corps or do EPIK which both will be doing the same thing…teaching abroad. But I also sort of just want to settle down…I know! I’ll barely be 22…I have more than enough time to settle down.

It’s one of my choices that I will have to make!

My dear friends, I write to you to express my 12 memorable moments of 2017. I wish all of you guys a great 2018!

1). Leroy Sanchez Part One

My first time that I got VIP passes, and one of the few times that I regretted opening my mouth. It’s totally worth it! I cherish this, because this incident cause the future Leroy to remember me… A FAN!!!

2). Pho and Descendants of the Sun

My sister is always up for random adventures, even if it’s to go to the stores at 10 o’clock at night. Yeah sure, they’re never huge adventures but sometimes those are the best. This year one of the small adventures was trying Pho for the first time. What made it more memorable and it’s going to be dumb, but I got her to start watching Descendants of the Sun and to this day…we are still watching it. We’ll finish it. I promise you!

3). Kay Kay’s 15

We had gone to Missouri to celebrate my cousin’s 15, and there was this moment where we were calling it a night, and I had to helped my cousin take off her 15 dress. I don’t know. I guess it was the fact that five years ago my sister and Kay Kay’s sister (my cousin) were doing exactly that for my surprise dance. Anyway this just made me realize that I’m officially the older cousin that had the opportunity to help and be in someone’s important day.

4). Smoothies of 2017???

On the day of my cousin’s graduation, there was this smoothie place right by the place we were waiting. We were hungry and hot, so we decided to take a little stop at the smoothies. I have no idea what place we stopped by but it was amazing and I want to go again.

5).Thai and rolled ice cream

Simple enough? My first time trying both of those things.

This straight up was my favorite!!! Three weeks of pure beautiful sights and so much to learn. There is no words to describe how much I miss this country. From looking outside of the hotel and spending my nights reading, and doing something that was so out of my comfort zone (the obstacle course and ziplining). Also, meeting my family. It was so much fun and I hope I go back.

7). Kwon JiYong

Damn it! Looking back I still cannot believe that I did this…this was definitely spontaneous! I enjoyed this joy and I was so close. I’m glad I went to yours even if I couldn’t go to Taeyang’s. Doesn’t mean I don’t regret it! I legit cry everytime I couldn’t hear my fave…”Eyes, Nose, Lips!!!”

8). Leroy Sanchez Part Two

He remembered me!!!!!!! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! A complete meltdown.

9). MY July Fourth

I say MY because during July Fourth I was too busy being a Mexican. Ha! So I really wanted to see some fireworks. We took a day to go to Navy Pier, and along the way we walked around the beach and took in the night like it was ours. Played with the water. Took some cute ass pictures while enjoying our Starbucks. I never would have imagined going at night would be so memorable.

10). Shawn Mendes

We surprised my 13 year old cousin with Shawn Mendes’s concert tickets, and well she loved it. His vocals were amazing!

11). Sophomore Part One

I completed my first half of Sophomore year and passed. I’m kind of happy about the year almost finishing.

12). The Greatest Showman

This is probably going to be last film I watch in 2017. I can say that it was the best choice of this year. If you love musicals, then I recommend it!!! I’ll probably make a post on my other blog site.
